Restorations

We specialize in complete restorations; everything from show quality classics to daily driven street machines. Muscle Cars, vintage, race, and exotics are all within our capabilities. From “mild to wild”, we can handle it. We build to the customer’s needs and desires within their budget limitations.

We also perform “partial restorations”; sometimes because that is what a budget allows, and sometimes because that’s all that’s needed.

Painting - Custom and Stock

The first thing anyone notices about a car is the quality of the paint. With a name like StraightLines, you know we strive for perfection! We provide state-of-the-art paint services, color matching, and final finish. We utilize the finest materials available throughout our processes to achieve outstanding results. Whether it be a vintage original color you desire or something wild and one-of-a-kind, we will create what you are looking for.

Body Panel Replacement and Custom Metal Fabrication

Body panel replacement is a routine aspect of most restorations. Our talented technicians routinely repair rust and/or damage in quarter panels, floor pans, fenders, etc. Often a replacement panel is available and the logical way to go, other times a quality panel isn’t available, and we fabricate a repair panel from new material. Custom spoilers, flares, belly-pans, fenders, shrouds, and much more are all within our metal fabrication capabilities. With our skills and fabrication equipment we bring today’s quality and technology to yesterday’s cars. Throughout the process, we work with customers to achieve the best repair or custom modification within their budget and desires.

Assembly and Finish

A full restoration produces a vehicle in better-than-new condition. This process includes all areas that are visible such as body, trim, chrome, interior, etc. It also includes commonly unseen areas including driveline, brakes, suspension, electrical, and cooling systems. Our craftsmen are meticulous in the assembly and finishing of every project we work on. Your satisfaction and safety are a top priority throughout each area of a project.

Chassis Rebuilds, Restoration, and Upgrades

Frames, sub-frames, suspension, steering, brakes, and axles are many of the most critical components of a vehicle. These all contribute to ride, handling, and safety. Our team is skilled in the proper techniques to repair and restore all chassis components. If a performance chassis is part of your plans, we are dealers for Roadster Shop and Art Morrison Chassis.

Engine Services - Rebuilds, Performance Upgrades, Crate Motor Replacements

Our technicians handle a wide variety of engine services. Performance upgrades, such as fuel injection systems, electronic ignition, carburetion, manifolds, exhaust headers, cold air induction, and complete custom exhaust systems are all handled in-house. We use an excellent local shop, J & L Engine and Machine, for complete engine rebuilding services. In recent years, many customers are opting for a complete crate engine installation. We are dealers for BluePrint, Edelbrock, GM Performance, and Ford Performance crate engines.

Upholstery

After years of struggling to find quality upholstery services on a timely basis for our customers, we opened our own upholstery shop in 2023. Using custom leather, vinyl, or cloth fabrics, our craftsmen create custom interiors including seats, dashes, door panels, headliners, trunk enclosures, and consoles. Custom embroidery is available. Carpet and convertible top installation, as well as original/stock type interiors are also available.

Wood Services - Vintage Replacement, Wood Truck Beds

Wood structural and interior components were commonplace in vintage cars and trucks of the past. Our team has extensive experience in repairing or replacing these wood components using proper materials available today. We are proud to have performed wood replacement on a variety of museum quality antique auto restorations. We also routinely install new wood beds in truck restorations using original style or exotic woods as the customer desires.

Sandblasting and Rust Removal

On many restorations sandblasting is a necessary first step to determine “what we are starting with”. Sandblasting can expose hidden body damage, filler, rust, and structural issues. After blasting, our staff in consultation with the customer, can decide if partial panel repair vs panel replacement is the best direction to proceed. Sandblasting is efficient and cost-effective at removing heavy rust and scale from frames, axles, wheels, and many other automotive components. We have our own sandblasting service in-house which is used for StraightLines projects or for your own needs.

Mechanical Service/Maintenance

The full range of mechanical service and maintenance is available at StraightLines. These services include repairs and/or maintenance to fuel systems, brakes, suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, and gear boxes, air conditioning, and electrical systems. Many of these services are performed with the support of trusted area specialty shops which we have utilized for years.

Upgrades

Upgrades to vehicles represent an ever-increasing part of our business. We are a “one stop shop” that can perform enhancements that will improve performance, handling, comfort, and safety. Refinements to engines, brakes, suspension, instrumentation, and interiors all contribute to the enjoyment of a vehicle. Upgrades such as Dakota Digital Gauges, modern Air Conditioning systems, Electronic Fuel Injection, state-of-the-art electronics and sound systems, and specialty brakes, suspension, and custom chassis work are all available.

On older vehicles, or with other system upgrades, new electrical harness installation is an important consideration. We are dealers for most major automotive specialty products on the market. If it is out there, we can get it for you!
